This year marks 50 years since this sitcom classic was first aired in colour, and it still stands the test of time.
In this episode from the third series which aired in September 1969, Captain Mainwaring has to make sure that the platoon are up to speed with communications, leading to a cramped lesson in giving calls in a telephone booth. Later, they have an encounter with the enemy when a German plane crash-lands in the town reservoir.
