Ryan Reynolds’ wise-cracking ‘merc with a mouth’ crashes back onto the small screen this week with the hotly-anticipated sequel to 2016’s hit action-comedy which sees DP face off against his toughest foe to date; a time travelling cyborg named Cable.
Fresh off the back of his performance in Avengers Infinity War, Josh Brolin becomes Cable and locks horns with Reynold’s character as they fight over the fate of Julian Dennison’s unstable, young mutant, Russell. Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić and T. J. Miller all reprise their roles from the previous film while Zazie Beetz and Karan Soni join the cast as Domino and Dopinder respectively. Elsewhere, the film boasts cameos from the likes of Brad Pitt, Eddie Marsan and Terry Crews.
After a traumatic event blows his family life apart, Wade Wilson’s superpowered alter-ego, Deadpool, looks for a new purpose by helping the X-Men, which eventually sees him arrested alongside an unstable young mutant named Russell when an altercation between the two goes awry. Taking Russell under his wing in prison, things go from bad to worse for Wade when a vengeful mutant from the future arrives, intent on killing the teenage mutant and anyone that stands in his way – Wade included.
Deadpool 2 – Sunday 8:00pm on Sky Premiere.
