This archive collection looks at how historians have managed to understand various natural disasters.

Featuring programmes from the 1970s up to the 2010s, presenter Danielle George looks atexperts in actual disasters such as the destruction of Pompeii, to the stuff of legend such as people trying to find possible of evidence of the lost city of Atlantis, like a tsunami that hit Crete in 1500 BC.

Regarding Atlantis, one of the programmes featured is Bettany Hughes’s Atlantis: The Evidence, which follows directly afterwards.
