Billy Monger was a keen motor-racer, but a horrific accent threatened to stop his career.
Just before turning 18, he hit a stationary car at 120mph. The crash resulted in him being put into a coma for three days and having both legs amputated. This hasn’t stopped him wanting to get back behind the wheel, and in this programme we see him trying to get the authorities to overturn a rule banning disabled people from driving single-seater racing cars.
Driver: The Billy Monger Story is on BBC Two at 21.00.
