Disabled film-maker Richard Butchins investigates how people with dwarfism have been represented in art, and how it has reflected their place in society.

With depictions dating back to the Egyptians, Butchins not just looks at the art, but interviews modern-day artists, academics, and people who had the condition itself, examining art that has sometimes been demeaning, and other art which is more positive.

Dwarfs in Art: a New Perspective is on BBC Four at 21.00.
