Following the success of shows like Black Mirror that used to be on Channel 4, and Amazon’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle, C4 have decided to adapt Dick’s short stories.
The first of these stories is The Hood Maker, set in a future society where a meteor shower has destroyed most modern day technology. There are also two distinct races of people: Normals, and Teeps, the latter being mutants with telepathic powers who face prejudice from the Normals.
The story follows Normal Agent Ross (Richard Madden) Teep Honor (Holliday Grainger) as they try to stop a new form of contraband, namely a hood that blocks telepathy.
Electric Dreams is on Channel 4 at 21.00.
