When thinking about relocation destinations, a three-acre plot of land on the banks of the River Nile in Uganda, is not the first place that comes to mind. However, for a young British couple – Jenny and Charlie – this was the ideal location to raise their five-month old baby.
As Jimmy continues his journey across the globe to meet British adventure seekers, he flies to Africa to see how Jenny and Charlie have settled into their new life in Uganda. Having swapped their Aberdeen house for land in the African bush, the couple jumped at the opportunity to create their own working farm from scratch.
Getting stuck in, he helps the couple fight to preserve their land against the encroaching river, he learns how they keep baby Ruaraidh safe from the various animals and tropical diseases that inhabit the region but struggles when he comes under attack from an army of ants and African bees.
With this being the last episode in the series, Jimmy wants to explore what life is really like for a modern family in the wilderness and whether Brits really are happy cashing it all in for a simpler life in the wild.
