The annual Eurovision song contest – now dubiously extends to non-european countries as well – returns tonight live from Lisbon where we’ll see a host of independent musical artists from across Europe representing their countries as the compete to be crowned grand champion of the 60 year old contest.
Portugal are on thier own turf this year after Salvador Sobral was crowned champion in Kiev last time round. But with the largest roster of acts we’ve seen so far in the competition and talented artists waiting in the wings, the pressure is on Portugal’s Cláudia Pascoal as she attempts to retain her country’s status as champions of the competition.
