Eurovision is back, and this time there is even more controversy than normal.
Yes, we have been used to people complaining about biased judges and the fact that the UK’s entry in the contest is normally pointless, but this year’s contest is taking place in Israel, so many people have been complaining about the contest being held there due to the conflict between it and Palestine. There have been calls from several campaigners to boycott the event.
However, Graham Norton will be there commentating, with the UK represented (and certainly coming near the bottom) with All Together Now series one winner Michael Rice. Acts to look out for include Iceland’s Hatari, a BDSM-influenced act whose song title translates into English as: “Hatred Will Prevail”.
Eurovision Song Contest is on BBC One at 20.00.
