Gary Lineker introduces live coverage as Canada contest their first World Cup game for 36 years, taking on a talented Belgian side who finished third at the 2018 tournament.
The Canadians’ last World Cup appearance was in 1986, when they lost all three group games without scoring a single goal, but they will be hopeful of a more competitive showing this time around. They beat both Mexico and the USA to top the final round of Concacaf qualifying, and a number of their squad play in top European leagues, such as Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies and Lille striker Jonathan David.
But they will begin as underdogs against a star-studded Belgian side featuring the likes of Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois.
Commentary comes from Steve Wilson and Jermaine Jenas.
