The first series of Flowers didn’t get high ratings, but it did please the critics, and it returns for a second run.

Once again we follow the twisted world of the Flowers family. Having survived suicide attempts, depression, adultery and lightning strikes, new issues are brewing. Former children’s author Maurice (Julian Barrett) is on the road to recovery following his failed attempt to hang himself, but it his wife Deborah (Olivia Colman) who is now the author, publishing a book about her husband’s depression. Meanwhile the Japanese illustrator to Maurice’s books, Shun, (the show’s writer and director Will Sharpe) is descending into alcoholism.

Flowers begins with a double-bill at 22.00 on Channel 4, and airs across the entire week.
