Preview – Football: England v Scotland, Women’s World Cup

Finally, the home nations begin their World Cup campaign, by taking on each other in their first group game.

This is the first time the Scots have made it to the World Cup, but they will still looking out for revenge, as the two sides also played each other in Euro 2017. Back then, England won 6-0, but Scotland were missing key players due to injury. England also lost their last warm-up game going into the World Cup, so the Scottish will be keen to press home the advantage.

This fixture is made even more important when you consider who else is in their group: Argentina and Japan, the latter of whom where the runner’s up in the last World Cup.

England v Scotland is on BBC One at 16.30 (kick-off 17.00).
