While most football coverage this week has been over the home nations trying to qualify for the World Cup, another World Cup has been going on.
The Under-17s World Cup began last week in India, and England are the only one of the home nations in the tournament. The managed to make a great start defeating Chile 4-0, thanks to two goals from Jadon Sancho who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund.
Today sees them taking on Mexico, and another victory should see England guaranteeing a spot in the knock-out stage. If not then there is always their next match which should be interesting to see, but less from a footballing perspective and more a political one, given the other team in England’s group is Iraq.
England v Mexico is on Eurosport 2 at 12.15 (kick-off 12.30).
