Preview – Frank Lloyd Wright: the Man Who Build America

Fallingwater

Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the greatest architects who ever lived, creating some of America’s most famous buildings.

This documentary, which originally aired on BBC Two Wales, partly explores his Welsh heritage – his mother was born in Llandysul, and his lifelong home was named after the Welsh bard Taliesin – as well as looking at his most famous works such as the Guggenheim Museum and Fallingwater.

It also explores Wright’s own tragic life: this included the murder of his first wife and two of their children by a servant working at Taliesin.

Frank Lloyd Wright: the Man Who Built America is on BBC Four at 21.00.
