Physics professor Jim Al-Khalili returns to BBC Four, bringing the astonishing science of the gravitational force that shapes our entire universe, to life.
Re-creating Galileo’s groundbreaking experiments measuring gravity, Jim discovers how gravity not only keeps us horizontal, but affects our posture and even plays a part in determining our height and even rate of ageing.
Jim also explores the latest breakthrough – ‘gravity waves’ – ripples in the vast emptiness of space, and finds out from astronauts what it’s like to live without gravity.
Finally with the help of a group of volunteers and scientists, he sets out to find where in Britain gravity is weakest and therefore the spot were we weigh the least.
