Grayson Perry is not only recognised for his Turner Prize winning art, but also his female alter ego Claire.
Using his ability to adopt multiple personalities and his creative flare, Grayson set himself a challenge at the beginning of the year to tackle the issue that has divided the country – Brexit.
In this one-off special, Grayson tries to understand both oppinions, uncovering the emotions, beliefs and desires that drive our loyalty to one political party or another, and to capture what he’s found in a monumental new work. He spends time in Boston in Lincolnshire, the most Leave-voting place in Britain, and also in Hackney in London, where 78% voted to Remain, trying to understand both sides.
Grayson believes that art can help the nation have a different kind of conversation about our political beliefs but is this belief strong enough to bring together to very opposing sides?
