Part of the BBC’s Natural World strand, this programme follows the novelist Helen Macdonald as she begins once again decides to train a bird of prey.
Macdonald created her bestselling memoir H is for Hawk in 2014, in which she wrote about the death of her father in 2007 and thus decided to train a goshawk, Mabel, as a way of overcoming her grief. Recently however, Mabel died, and now she is training up a new hawk called Lupin. This programme follows Macdonald as she trains up Lupin and forms a new friendship.
