Preview – Hollywood’s Brightest Bombshell: the Hedy Lamarr Story

Hedy Lamarr

Austrian-born star Hedy Lamarr may be most famous for her acting career, but there was a lot more to her than this.

While her famous and sometimes controversial film roles where what made Lamarr’s name, her greatest contribution to the world was arguably a scientific one, helping to develop frequency hopping technology that not only help the Allies in World War Two, but help to set up modern-day Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology as well.

Hollywood’s Brightest Bombshell is on BBC Four at 21.00.
