The idea of “clean eating” is that you eat not just to lose weight, but to actually improve your health and even, as some people claim, cure illnesses.
In this edition of Horizon, Dr. Giles Yeo interviews some of the people behind clean eating. These include Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella fame, who claims the idea of clean eating has lost its way; the Hemsley sisters, who support the idea of grain-free cooking; and Natasha Corbett, whose “Honestly Healthy” brand promotes the idea of alkaline eating.
On the more disturbing side, Dr. Yeo uncovers some of the pseudoscience concerning clean eating, including the Californians who think using alkaline food can help cure cancer.
