Yesterday presents a six-part series looking at some of the bizarre railways systems located across the globe.
The first episode deals with railways in cities. These include the Crossrail network in London and the city’s 19th century Necropolis Railway, which was designed to transport corpses out of the overcrowded metropolis. There is also the Schwebebahn or “floating train” on Wuppertal, Germany, which is an upside-down monorail system that hangs of V-frames.
Impossible Railways is on Yesterday at 19.00.
