While I am in favour of the BBC not advertising stuff, this programme does demonstrate problems with the system.
This issue being sometimes it is obvious which company they are dealing with. Today, Gregg Wallace is inside the largest brewery in Britain, based in Burton-upon-Trent. Given the recent advertising campaign from this brewery, which refers to Burton, part of me is thinking: “Look, just say it’s Carling! It’s bloody obvious who it is.”
Also in the show, Cherry Healey looks at how the four basic ingredients in beer can be manipulated to create so many different varieties, and Ruth Goodman looks at how Burton became the centre of British brewing.
Inside the Factory is BBC Two at 20.00.
