Guy Ritchie tackles Arthurian legend in this 2017 rendition of the ancient myth. The film boasts a talented cast with Jude Law, Aiden Gillen and Annabelle Wallis all starring while Charlie Hunnam takes up the lead role as Arthur.
Born in the squalor of the back street of medieval London, Arthur Pendragon – unaware of his lineage or birth right to the throne of Camelot- is an orphan raised by prostitute after his mother and father were killed by his tyrannical uncle, Vortigern. Coming of age, Arthur finds himself thrust into the front-lines of a vicious rebellion to de-throne his uncle after he succeeds where many others failed and lifts an ancient, magical sword from solid stone. Resentful of his responsibility and heritage at first, Arthur must bring himself to embrace his destiny if the kingdom is ever to see the end of his uncle’s disastrous oppression.
