Veteran presenter and advocate of all-things gardening, Alan Titchmarsh returns in the eighth season of ITV’s Love your Garden series. The programme follows a similar premise to that of 60-minute makeover and other contributions to the “surprise transformation” genre with Titchmarsh and his team of experts travelling the country to give extraordinary gardens to the people who deserve them most.
In this episode, Alan and his team visit 90 year-old Betty Hicks – a life-long volunteer and fundraised from Fareham – to transform her desolate concrete garden into a safe and serene space inspired by her love of vivid colour. Throughout the project, Alan and his experts talk viewers at home through each process and give all the advice needed to recreate the elegant formal garden they leave Betty with.
