Back in 2009, ITV made a documentary called Islands of Britain in which Martin Clunes travelled around the smaller islands that surround Britain. Last year, Clunes returned to do a similar project for Australia’s Seven Network, travelling around the smaller islands around Oz.
In this opening episode, Clunes travels to Lord Howe to climb up the island’s only export, a kentia palm tree; then onto Norfolk Island, which was formerly a prison; and finally Restoration Island, which is the home to just one human.
It is interesting to see some of the more remote parts of the world; and these are remote parts even for Australia.
Martin Clunes: Islands of Australia is on ITV on 20.00.
