Spencer Jones appeared in last week’s Comedy Playhouse alongside Tim Vine, is in Upstart Crow next week, and last month was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. Things are going well for him.
Jones is mostly known for physical humour, especially his character of “The Herbert”, and it seems this style of comedy is in evidence in his pilot. Here he plays accident-prone Lesley Winner, who is attempting to propose to girlfriend Jemma (Aimee-Ffion Edwards).
Also starring in this pilot are Romesh Ranganathan, Richard Glover, and Shaun Williamson as Jemma’s father.
