The BBC is presenting us with a new Agatha Christie adaptation, and interestingly it is not one featuring her most famous creations.
There is no Poirot or Miss Marple in Ordeal by Innocence, which follows the trials of the Argyll family. Widower Leo (Bill Nighy) is planning to remarry 18 months after the death of his heiress wife Rachel (Anna Chancellor), while her adopted son Jack (Anthony Boyle) died in a prison ball after he was sent down for murder. But now a strange scientist appears claiming that he can prove Jack was innocent.
Ordeal by Innocence is on BBC One at 21.00.
