While Pablo Picasso’s most famous works came in the 1930s, this documentary looks at his much later work in the 1960s.
By this time much of Picasso’s work was attacked, and he himself was under scrutiny because of his lifestyle. Despite this, and his declining health, he continued to produce more work which shocked his contemporaries. This documentary argues that this later phase of his career produced some of Picasso’s greatest artworks.
Picasso’s Last Stand is on BBC Two at 21.00.
