Part of Storyville, this documentary follows the story of how the company making Teflon was poisoning a town’s water supply.

In Parkersburg, West Virginia, a farmer discovered his cattle dying. Later discoveries showed that DuPont, which make Teflon, was dumping a poisonous ingredient that was used to make Teflon called C8 into the town’s water supply, because they believed it to be cheaper than redesigning the formula. What resulted was a class-action lawsuit involving around 70,000 people.

Poisoning America: the Devil We Know is on BBC Four at 21.00.
