Preview – Russia with Simon Reeve

The second episode of Reeve’s travel series sees him at a march for those who died in war, visit in peculiar café, and meets tribes descending from the Mongols.

Simon goes to Irkutsk, Siberia, where the sees the March of the Immortal, where 40,000 people take part remembering relatives who died in World War Two; and visits the “President’s Café”, a café themed on Vladimir Putin, complete with a doormat to wipe your feet on that looks like the American flag.

He also meets the Tuvans, a tribe practicing Mongol traditions but is being ruined by alcoholism; and meets a cult lead who raises girls to be, “shy, inconspicuous and weak”.
