In 2002 EMI did a deal with Robbie Williams worth £80 million, the largest in British music history at the time. This stands in stark contrast to the story of Little Richard, who only earned half a cent for each sale of “Tutti Frutti”.

TV talent judge Sharon Osbourne looks into the history of music deals, talking about some of the most dubious and the greatest deals that have been made. Bands covered in this programme include The Beatles, The Police, The Animals, NWA and Led Zeppelin.

Osbourne also talks about her own involvement in one dodgy deal – when she once repeated kicked a concert promoter in the groin for trying to con her husband Ozzy.

Sharon Osbourne: the Dodgiest Deals in Rock ‘n’ Roll is on BBC Four at 22.00.
