Fred Sirieix continues his often-hilarious challenge to some of the nation’s top-drawer chefs – they must work out the secret techniques and recipes behind some of our best-loved snacks.
In this edition it’s Burger King’s Whopper and fries. Two-Michelin-starred chef Claude Bosi from Bibendum in Chelsea is up against Lisa Goodwin-Allen, also a Michelin-starred chef from Northcote in Lancashire. They use all their professional skills to recreate not only the flame-grilled burger but also the bun, the fries and the dressings. And Fred sets them an additional challenge – they must go head to head in a Burger King restaurant to deliver their burgers in the fastest possible time too.
The winner is decided by a panel of the fast food chain’s top employees. Meanwhile, comedian Jayde Adams goes behind the scenes at Burger King factories to reveal the real process behind The Whopper.
