Although the BBC start their coverage of this year’s UK Championship today, the first few rounds have already taken place and seen some shocks already.

The biggest upset occurred on Thursday, when the world no. 1 Mark Selby was knocked out by the 126th seed James Cahill. Shaun Murphy and Ryan Day are also among the big names to have been knocked out early. Defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan and world champion Mark Williams are thus the big names to watch.

The UK Championship begins on BBC One at 13.15.
