The snooker is getting exciting as today we reach the end of possibly the most anticipated draw of the tournament.

Yesterday was the start of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s campaign to win a sixth world title, something only two other people have achieved in the Crucible era. O’Sullivan has already made history by winning more majors than anyone else, and getting 1,000 centuries. Meanwhile, his opponent James Cahill is the first amateur to qualify for the tournament. In terms of underdogs, he has one of the biggest uphill struggles.

Also today three other matches conclude: David Gilbert and Joe Perry, fifth-seed John Higgins and Mark Davis, plus Shaun Murphy and Luo Honghao. Plus third-seed Mark Selby begins his first round match against China’s Zhao Xintong.

The World Championship is on BBC Two at 10.00 and 13.00, with more coverage on the BBC Red Button including exclusive coverage at 19.00.
