The 1967 Summer of Love forged a rift between young Americans and their elders, the final episode of Summer of Love: How Hippies Changed the World, examines how the American government responded with a series of brutal crackdowns on the free spirits.

Although their political beliefs were never taken seriously, their cultural influence has left a lasting impact on everything from the environmental movement and the explosion in alternative health practices to the birth of feminism.

This episode also follows how the hippie, ideas first thought up whilst on LSD, went on to shape future generations.
