Gregg Wallace and consumer journalist Nikki Fox return for a third series, this time looking at how the internet us changing how we shop.
We also examine how technology is transforming our food. Wallace interviews the Head of Plant Innovation at Tesco who has claimed to have created vegan meals that taste like meat such as a plant-based steak, and learns how Asda are using technology to make sweeter tomatoes.
Fox meanwhile looks at “sensory shopping”, and how changes to supermarkets such as lowering the brightness of lights and switching off music helps autistic shoppers.
Supermarket Secrets is on BBC One at 20.00.
