This episode of Storyville follows the life of Elián González, a boy who became the subject of a famous custody battle.
Cuban-born González was found of the coast of Florida in 1999, aged six, after he and his mother fled the country, his mother dying in the crossing. The fate of González became the subject of a bitter legal battle, with his father wanting him returned to Cuba, and there being interference by politicians from both the USA and Cuba.
The story sees the now 23-year-old González and his family telling his own story.
