Helen FitzGerald’s novel is brought to the small screen with Jenna Coleman and Ewen Leslie among the cast.
They play Joanna and Alistair, who travel to Australia with their baby son (who cries constantly during the flight), where Alistair plans to campaign for custody of his teenage daughter from a previous marriage. However, things then take a dramatic turn for the worse.
The Cry is on BBC One at 21.00.
