When planning a house renovation, home owners have a clear idea of how they what the rooms to look and what will work for them and their lifestyle. But what happens when you give an amateur designer free-range to transform your living room as they see fit?
In the penultimate episode of BBC Two’s, The Great Interior Design Challenge, two aspiring designers are challenged to do just this. With a budget of £2,000 and a strict 48 hour time period, they must both transform a living room and dining room in a quaint thatched cottage.
If the pressure of pleasing the homeowners isn’t stressful enough, the designers are placed under the watchful eyes of Kelly Hoppen, Daniel Hopwood and guest Michelle Ogundehin – editor in chief of Elle Decoration.
With both designers drawn towards a blue colour scheme, will their bold decisions please their clients or are matching curtains and wallpaper a little, off-putting..
