The posthumously celebrated national hero, Alan Turing, is the central figure of the 2014 period-drama; The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumberbatch takes up the Oscar-nominated role as the heroic code-breaker and is supported by a star-studded cast including the likes of Keira Knightley, Charles Dance and Rory Kinnear.
The Imitation game tells the tale of the socially awkward mathematician, WWII code-breaker, father of the modern computer and ultimately demonised homosexual, Alan Turing, recounting the extraordinary achievements and tragic mistreatment of one of Britain’s greatest modern heroes. The film takes us to London during the height of the Second World War, as Turing and his team struggle to break the Nazi enigma code with fractures between team members and dangerous secrets threatening to cast the whole operation into ruin.
