Bear is back having stranded two more groups of budding adventure seekers on islands in the Pacific Ocean. Offering somewhat obvious advice like ‘it’s imperative the groups find water’ and ‘the group need to work together if they hope to survive’, the explorer guru Bear Grylls watches over the amateurs as they try and make a home on the island.
This year focuses on the generations – on one island a group of 18-30 year olds and on another, a group of oldies. Will the inexperienced youth be struck down by their naivety or will the oldies be too stuck in their ways to strive on the island?
In this episode, the young realise they’ve chosen the wrong campsite when rain turns it into a swamp and take refuge with the older group – an unwelcome decision that results in a row – and it doesn’t take long for the oldest member of the group, 66 year-old-frank, to take charge.
As the groups set about tacking the three priorities, shelter, water and food – cracks start to show in the group dynamics while key players shine through.
