Prof. Alice Roberts presents the annual science lectures, this year investigating the subject if what it means to be human.

Following the aftermath of news last month that a Chinese scientist has claimed to have made the world’s first genetically edited babies, Roberts looks at how far we should go when it comes to genetic testing, using among other things armadillos, giant origami and 4D scanning.

The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures is on BBC Four at 20.00.
