Filmed as part of Channel 4’s Cutting Edge strand, comedian David Baddiel takes a personal look at dementia.
Baddiel’s father, Colin, has a form of dementia called “Pick’s disease”, the symptoms of which include becoming increasingly rude and vulgar. It seems that Baddiel Senior has always been partial to what Baddiel Junior refers to “abusive banter”, but his condition has taken this to even further levels of rudeness.
The film sees David and his brother Ivor trying to address the problem and doing their best under the circumstances, as Colin slowly becomes less like he used to be in his younger days.
The Trouble with Dad is on Channel 4 at 21.00.
