Davina McCall hosts the next instalment of the real-life transformations show, which features people who commit to a 12-month pledge to make significant changes to the way they live their lives.
Usually, this is the type of programme that sees me banished to the other room by Mrs H, because in all instances I know that I would do a better job because the people involved do not have the necessary self-discipline to tough it out. Not that I’m at all deluded.
This week, though, I’m taking a break from my own excellence to appreciate the courage of others as Davina meets childhood sweethearts Fiona and David Eastwood, both 38 and from London, who are hoping they will finally be able to have their longed for child via a surrogate. The pair have been together for nearly 25 years and have suffered years of failed IVF attempts. Will this be the year they finally get their wish?
