The last in the current series of current affairs programmes sees Ade Adeptain travelling to the Republic of the Congo, where there is a conflict between tribes-people and environmentalists.
The Baka tribe have hunted in forests for generations, but now their forests are being turned into a large national park, threatening their way of live. To make things more problematic, there are claims that the World Wildlife Fund is part-funding “eco-guards” to prevent the Baka from hunting for the food that sustains them, and that these guards are also intimidating them to the point the tribe life in fear. How can the needs of both the environment and those of the poorest be balanced?
