The star of Dynasty is the latest figure to be the subject of the Sky Arts comedy series.
Back in 1990, Joan Collins (Victoria Hamilton) was given a $1.2million advance from the American publishing company Random House to write a novel. Collins wrote the book, but it was considered by Random House to be “unreadable”.
As a result, Random House sued Collins, demanding the return of the advance they paid her, in a case that ended up being televised. This comedy drama reimages the events, with a few nods to the American soap opera that made her famous.
Urban Myths: The Trial of Joan Collins is on Sky Arts at 21.00.
