This sitcom has been dubbed an Inbetweeners reunion by some – although as it only unites two of the four main cast members it is a bit of stretch.
White Gold is based on writer Damon Beesley’s experiences of growing up in 1980s Essex. It follows the staff of a double-glazing showroom run by the Vincent Swan (Ed Westwick), a man who is willing to do anything to get a sale, no matter how dodgy. On top of his reprehensible behaviour, there is also plenty of drugs, sex and cash flowing his way.
Also working with him are Brian Fitzpatrick (James Buckley), a man who is incredibly smarmy and can get cash out of any unfortunate customer; and Martin Lavender (Joe Thomas), a polite failed musician who sales figures are badly let down by his morality.
White Gold is on BBC Two at 22.00.
