The 2018 Winter Olympics official open today – they actually started a few days ago, but they opening ceremony is tonight.
We have little idea of what the ceremony from Pyeongchang, South Korea will be like. It can’t be any worse than the one in Sochi 2014 where they had a display of five snowflakes that then turned into the Olympic rings, only for one of them not to open up. Having said that, there are reports that it has been so cold that even the Canadians are finding it chilly.
Clare Balding is on hand to narrate the coverage for BBC One.
Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony is on BBC One and Eurosport 1 at 10.30.
