Following England’s success in the world cup, the women’s game now turns to domestic competitions, with the Super League Twenty20 competition.

This contest was created last year, with the first champions being the Southern Vipers, Nat Sciver’s team, which consists of among other countries Surrey and Hampshire. That time they beat Western Storm, made up of Somerset and Gloucestershire, led by England’s captain Heather Knight. The first match of the tournament this year is a repeat of the match.

Sadly Sky are not covering all the matches in the tournament, but it is good to see some matches on. Although I think it would be even better if Durham were allowed to play too.

Women’s Cricket Super League is on Sky Main Event and Sky Cricket at 14.00.
