Tonight you will see something that only happens once in a blue moon – namely, an actual blue moon. Not only that, it’s a super moon and a blood moon, all at the same time.
This programme looks at the way the Moon shapes what happens on Earth, from the scientific to the religious. There is also talk about the dark side of the Moon, and an interview with Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean, who now tries to recapture his experiences of walking on the Moon through art.
Wonders of the Moon is on BBC One at 21.00.
