The knock-out stage finally gets runaway. No more second chances, and now we have the dreaded penalty shoot-outs.
Starting things off this afternoon are the winners of Group C, France, who face Group D runners-up Argentina. The French have been rather dull in this tournament, with their last match being the only goalless draw of the World Cup so far. They will need some more action this time around as Argentina will be desperate to improve on their mixed form.
This evening Group A winners Uruguay, who have won every match so far, will face Portugal, who haven’t lost a match, but two of their results were draws.
France v Argentina is on BBC One at 14.30 (kick-off 15.00).
Uruguay v Portugal is on ITV at 18.30 (kick-off 19.00).
